Habitat

Ecology: Ammotragus lervia inhabits rough, rocky, arid country. Because of the sparse distribution of water sources in this type of habitat , the Barbary sheep relies on vegetation for most of its water. Diet consists of grass , herbaceous vegetation and stunted bushes. It has been reported that mating occurs mainly from September-November, with most births (usually twins) occurring March-May. Sexual maturity is reached at around 18 months.[1]
