Overview
Starfish . A. amurensis are seastars native to China, Korea, Russia and Japan. They have spread to North America and Australia where they seriously affect the native shellfish population. Where seastar densities are high, most bivalves and other attached or sedentary invertebrates are eliminated.

Habitat
Typically found in water with a depth of 0 to -34 meters (0 to -112 feet).Mean = 35.250 meters (115.650 feet), Standard Deviation = 92.270 based on 12 observations. Ocean depth information for each observation from British Oceanographic Data Centre.
