Range and Population:

This species has been recorded from the Gran Chaco of western Paraguay and northwestern Argentina (Gardner 2005). In addition, it has been reported to occur in Mato Grosso, Brazil, on the basis of one zoological park specimen (Wetzel 1980). It has not been recorded from Bolivia.
