Vegetation: tropical lowland evergreen forest, pine forests, tropical lowland evergreen forest, pine-oak forests • Minimum Elevation: 1,200 meters • Maximum Elevation: 4,300 meters • Foraging Strata: Terrestrial • Center of Abundance: Upper montaine: mountains, upper range, above 3,600 m. • Sensitivity to Disturbancet: Medium

Similar Species
The Dark-eyed Junco is similar to the local (southeast Arizona) Yellow-eyed Junco but has dark eyes. Black-chinned sparrow has streaked back, brown wings and lacks white in the tail.
