Physical Description
Adult : Head : slate-gray on side Crown: brownish-slate to dark olive-brown Face : Eye Color: bright red Bill: greenish yellow with red coral base Neck: slate-gray to plumbeous Hindneck: brownish-slate to dark olive-brown Throat : white Body: Breast: gray Flanks: barred with dusky and white Size: fairly small Underparts: slate-gray Upperparts: dull brownish olive Legs : Leg Color: bright red-coral Thighs: barred with dusky and white Wings: Linings : barred with dusky and white Tail: Crissum: barred with dusky and white Uppertail Coverts: dark brown and white bars.

About 7 to 8 inches long, with a wingspan of 12 to 13 inches. Adults weigh about 2.2 ounces .
