The nearshore benthic marine environment; extends from the vegetation line to the deep ocean floor; a coast section normally ranges from 10's to 100's of km in linear extent along the marine/terrestrial interface; coast may be either: coast - barrier reef, Coast - fringing reef, or coast - noncoral reef; each coast type contains different area types.
