(L. fimbriatus: fringed) Cut into regular segments and appearing fringed at the margins, usually with hairs or hair-like structures (fimbrillae) along the margin; fringed, generally with radiating cell walls of partly eroded marginal cells; e.g. the stem leaf apices of Sphagnum fimbriatum.
