(L. lomentum: bean flour) A type of dry dehiscent fruit formed from a single carpel but divided into one-seeded compartments by constrictions between the seeds. Legumes (e.g. those of Acacia) and siliquas (e.g. those of wild radish) can be divided in this way. Syn. lomentum.
