(Gr. raphê: seam) (pl. raphae) The part of the stalk of an anatropous ovule that is fused along the side of the ovule. A ridge on the seed formed by the portion of the funiculus fused to the seed coat. A ridge on a seed marking the line of fusion between an anatropous (inverted) ovule and the funicle.
