Grew up in the big city, read a lot, and never saw any wildlife until I started traveling to Africa at 16. Many trips to Africa (Sahara and South), got interested in wildlife. Following University, a rather international career in management consulting and many trips. Turned to South America (a childhood fascination, the Mayas, the Incas, Amazonia, the Andes...). Retired early, and for the past 14 years, spent 4 months a year from Mexico to Patagonia – always with my wife, Michèle. Really started photographing butterflies when cameras turned digital. Today I’m surveying the butterflies of Sangay National Park in Ecuador. Visit sangay.eu for the butterflies inventory, and parquesangay.org.ec for more info on the Park itself. |
